Online support groups
I have this idea that mothers need to someone to talk to, make some sense of that which is happening to them since their child has enter the criminal justice system. I was once there. I see others mothers, grandmothers etc. reaching out to see if others will help them make sense of the matter. I am just stepping out to see what I can do to make a difference in the lives of women who are now dragged into this way of life. Thanks!

As a mother, the stress of having one of your children go through the criminal system -- arrest, trial, sentencing, jail time,probation/parole, re-entry -- is devastating. Oftentimes, we blame ourselves and spend countless hours asking where we went wrong. A support group that can address these feelings of guilt could be quite helpful. I commend you for taking the leadership in developing a support system for parents of the incarcerated to address some of the issues they face. Congratulations. I will be happy to share information with u on this subject.

ReplyDeleteDifferent states People will face different issues in dealing with the criminal justice system. That is why I see your's and other involvement as necessary.
