A while ago, I attended a conference on legal matters. I do like to make sure that I am up to date on my facts and what's new in the legal community. And, One of the great things I've learned is, it's great to know the history of life. But, I also gained knowledge, and just wanted to ask did you know the difference between been pardon, expungement, and a commute sentence and how to get one? I didn't. Plus their outcomes. Here are a few links. Plus see if you can go find your own.:)
Did you know that Presidents can pardon a person or persons? View/See for yourself
PARDON: The action of an executive official of the government that mitigates or sets aside the punishment for a crime. http://www.justice.gov/pardon/pardon-information-and-instructions
EXPUNGEMENT:
COMMUTE:
A commuted sentence is a form of clemency that reduces the punishment for a crime. It usually takes the form of a reduced (“commuted”) prison term, but can also reduce court-ordered fines.
A commuted sentence replaces the original, court-ordered sentence. A controversial example is ex-President Bush’s 2007 decision to commute Scooter Libby’s 30-month prison sentence.
When looking at these options: commute, pardon, and expungement one must look up: your state ruling, consider and how it will affect the life of your child, his/ or her case, and whether your child or loved one will qualify for either.
As always take care of yourself first. So that you will be fit and in good condition to help others.
