So, here at Mothers of Felons, we have gathered many resources to aid in helping one to walk the journey. Check out the various tabs on the site. Also thanks so much for stopping. Also, check out the Marshall Project and their article on Coronavirus and its effects on the incarcerated. Their information is very interesting for future planning for the return of my child/ren or loved one.

A lot of time it helps when one can be in a peaceful frame of mind. Hopefully, the information provided here will help with the many challenging times to come ahead. Many times your life will change right in front of your eyes, depending on the crime. Tempers will flare up and emotions will ebb and flow at various times and for different reasons. The stress alone will be enough to make one ill.  Please seek the help that is needed.

When faced with the emotions of the criminal justice system are you aware of what is going on? Such as the charges? What is plea bargain vs. going to trial? Why not alternative sentencing and Restorative Justice as common as the terms of the sentencing. Mothers of Felons website

Let me Hafeezah Ahmad, Mother of seven inspired children, and founder of  Mothers of Felons website, introduce you to me and my world of thoughts.  Yes, I am the mother of a felon. Wanting to connect with others who have to walk that walk of despair and often shame.  While many not knowing that you have done your very best in being there for your child/ren or loves ones. Yet, often you will be left out of the process of court processing. You will need to show the beautiful, loving kind side of your child and their importance in the family, life. Ex: video, pictures, etc. for court. The human/ positive side of your love one.

However, there is a greater calling for many that are going through this catastrophic event and the changes will soon follow. Such as self-awareness, new friendships, losses, new loves and may God forbid illness and self-doubt. Just to name a few.

This site is about encouraging through the written words, videos and the discussions that will occur to bring peace of mind, and that, all will be well and work out for the better of all of those involved. Helping one to have a one-stop-way in locating their loved ones. Also in finding out what are the charges and the collateral consequences of their deeds if there is any.

Yes, this site was developed out of my frustration in dealing with my son's criminal behavior and but it is my wanting other Mothers, Lovers, and Caregivers not to feel that this is the end of living and having a good life. By presenting a one-stop way to have the information that is needed to be well informed and armed with the knowledge to meet the challenge ahead.

But if one was to look up signal in a financial dictionary there is no meaning for that word, Yet if your child or loved one is in the criminal justice system then you are going to pay a price with money or your health. On such thing things a food/snacks, soda doing visit time or for the visit itself to travel to the prison or jail. Not to mention the phone calls and the canteen or money for the books, and clothing and other personal items. Plus the stress and strain one gets under when having to deal, with the criminal justices system.

Did you know that synonym for tragedy is bummer, misfortune, catastrophe, and whammy just to name a few? Thus one must turn it around to make tragedy into success, happiness, fortune, prosperity, and joy. By looking inwards and find the blessing that has been given to them through this challenge in life. One can make some success, happiness fortune, prosperity and joy in their life, by doing and thinking differently.

This all based on how you deal with the feeling of the tragedy of your child/ren or loved one who has entered into the criminal justice system. through their own fault or no fault of their own.

As you see I have recovered from one of my many tragedies in life and had the chance to write again.

The same also goes for the opening phase I pulled from PSI TEK website to be very informative because I thought I had known myself and my surroundings. I was going to raise the best children, and that they would be outstanding citizens. Why? Wasn't I was always working to make things righT for our lives!  There were no questions to be asked.

 However, the criminal industries marketing has expanded. And somehow I was to increase more to the stock market prison industries by raising a son for whom would become a part of it.

 Thus one must go over the charges with an open mind and research the charges and be at the court dates. and listen and except only the true facts. Make the necessary changes for life to get better. By taking care of self and getting and doing the things that will help you not to become ill in any form or fashion. Such getting a massage or just taking a walk. Well, this year has come to an end in the present.  Bye 2017. And as I now prepare myself for a new adventure in 2018. In, following my journey in understanding the criminal system, empowering those that are standing in the need of prayer, and working with those, to advocate for change and awareness in dealing with the criminal justice system. And discovering information to pass along to mothers lovers and caregiver of felons. The possibility of meeting new friends and forming relationships.

You can check out Prison Action Milwaukee out on FACEBOOK. Plan to attend PAM's fundraiser TBA. So getting back to the newsletter, which I felt as a mother's, lover or caregivers, could be a dream come true.  Loaded with information that will help to inspire one in seeking knowledge about what is happening to their love. Even insight about certain bills that affect various outcomes in the life of a felon.

As a must-read. I was taught this one by my son.  I could never get the full charges out of him or what was he thinking to end up in this mess and how my life would change as I was now reacting and learning how to deal with the matter.

While searching the internet a few days ago for articles and resources that might make a difference in figuring out what next step in the life-changing mission of having someone entering into the criminal justice system or is a repeat offender.
I would like to present to you a site call Learn Out Loud.
I found this site to have many great resources in the audio and video learning styles.  In a sense it help one to see and hear the different point of views.

In the book The Color Purple written by Alice Walker, the character wrote letters to God. She felt God was the only one to hear her out, and that she could tell of the tragedy and hard luck life she was living. She felt that God would be able to provide her with the means to keep on living and learning.

In life, we are sometimes quick to express anger, frustration, and many other emotions, but never write letters to God about it.

How easy it is to lose a loved one to drugs, jail, or mental illness. Or lose faith when you wished that if only they could have gotten married, or been single, and get to travel. Just live a great life.

Well I also have not written letters to God about my trials and tribulations. But I have expressed them to all that cares to read with the hope that I might be able to get answers, or to question what another person may not ask. This helps me to struggle through the situation. Plus, I’m hoping others would share their knowledge and what works for them.

Well, today I took one giant step forward and joined a support group. If any of you are struggling, or don't want to give up to the struggle with what is taking place in your life at this time. Joining a support group, or even forming one will help you to gain perspective on what you are going through. And, it might help you out as you adjust things in your life and cope with the matter and the stress that comes along with it.

I would like to give a shout out to Prison Action Milwaukee. I must say that their vision is A VEHICLE FOR CHANGE IN THE WISCONSIN PRISON SYSTEM.

I went to their meeting on Saturday, and felt accepted, I felt that I could learn more and be a partner in their mission to change the laws criminal justice system. Thanks to the Founder Rose Scott for her tremendous effort, words of encouragement, and for reaching out to others in need of the support.

So, with these words I would like to say seek or build the support that you will need in this journey/challenge.

Take care of yourself, for others now need you to be strong and healthy, in mind, body, and soul.

And having money at that tragedy moment that your child/children or love are facing jail time and prison can bring about hardships to a family. Like bail money, the visits to the jails or prison, buying food/snacks and gas just to name a few. Oh, How did I forget the time you have to take off from work?

But as synonyms for tragedy is: bummer, misfortune, catastrophe and a whammy just to name a few.

This situation can be turned around, in a success, for happiness, fortune, prosperity, and joy.

It is all based on how you deal with the feeling of tragedy. One way is to find out the insides and out of your child charges or crime. Also what can be the Collateral consequences of-of such charges?

Plus, can you hire and expert witness, if need be?

There an appreciation that at least your child is still alive and there are many possibilities for a good future? But they still have a choice to make and only they can do it.  Yet, we still have so much hope that they turn this around.  even more, hope than they may feel themselves...
